Tuta in Space is a documentary storytelling project exploring the lives of astronomers and researchers working at observatories, and the human stories behind their connection to the universe.
The project begins at the Abastumani Astrophysical Observatory in Georgia, one of the oldest observatories in the region.
Through interviews and observational storytelling, the project follows scientists whose work is dedicated to understanding the cosmos. It focuses not only on their research, but also on their personal journeys, the paths that led them into astronomy, and the curiosity that continues to guide their work.
The first episode features Ukrainian astronomer Volodymyr Kozlov, who shares his experience of becoming an astronomer and how his journey brought him to Abastumani after leaving the Pik Terskol Observatory following Russia’s invasion of Ukraine in 2022. The interview was filmed in June 2026 at the Abastumani Astrophysical Observatory in Georgia.
